Saurabh Chaudhary Claims Asian Games Gold in Men's 10m Air Pistol Event at 16.

Saurabh Chaudhary, at 16, on Tuesday is now the fifth Indian shooter to claim a gold in the Asian Games History in the 10m air pistol finals at Palembang, Indonesia.

Saurabh even at the age of 16  showed his prowess with great maturity and calmness to take the lead at the penultimate shot in the 24-shot final. 2010 World Champion Tomoyuki Matsuda misfired on the 23rd shot, an 8.9, to settle for silver. He scored 239.7.

Saurabh had already broken the world record in the Junior World Cup in Germany couple of months ago.

"I did not feel any pressure," said Chaudhary, who picked up the sport only three years ago when a representative from TOI  asked about the fierce competition that included Matsuda and Jin Jingoh from South Korea, the multiple-time Olympic and world champion.
